Named for the Phaistos Disc — the spiral-stamped clay disc pulled out of a Minoan palace floor in Crete, still undeciphered after three and a half thousand years. This is the same instinct in silver: a plain round face, meant to be turned over in the hand.

Made one at a time in my Queens workshop. No casting house, no overseas factory — I cut, form, and finish each one myself, then it ships to you.

Why it costs what it costs

Most sterling rings this size are hollow-backed or stamped thin to save metal. This one isn't. The disc has real weight to it, the band is solid through, and every surface is hand-finished — that's the part that takes the time, and the part you feel when you put it on.

Care

Sterling silver darkens over time; that's the metal doing what it does. The rhodium finish slows it considerably and will wear thin with years of daily wear — I can re-plate it whenever you want. Wipe it with a soft cloth after wearing, keep it away from chlorine and household cleaners, and store it dry. Never use a dip cleaner on a plated finish.
